Choosing a Chandelier FAQS
What size chandelier do I need for my room?
What size chandelier do I need for my room?
Choosing the right size chandelier depends on your room dimensions and ceiling height. Here are simple guidelines to help:
Centre Ceiling Chandeliers:
- Measure your room's width and length and add them together - the result in feet will give you the diameter around in inches.
- If your sitting room is 12 feet by 14 feet (12 + 14 = 26), then 26 inch diameter chandelier is a good starting point.
Over Table/Island Chandeliers:
- A chandelier for over a table should have a diameter that’s either half to 2/3rds the width of your table.
- An oval or rectangular chandelier should be no more than 2/3rds the length of your table or island.
Again, these are just guidelines - if you still need a hand, send us a picture of your space on Whatsapp (bottom right green icon) along with your query!
How bright should my chandelier be? Which bulbs should I choose?
How bright should my chandelier be? Which bulbs should I choose?
We supply a range of bulbs with different colour temperatures and and wattage/lumen output. Most of our chandeliers are also dimmable with the correct bulbs.
For more intimate areas such as bedrooms, living rooms and dining areas we recommend our 2700K (warm white, relaxing yellow tint) or 3000K (cool white, more natural white) bulbs.
If you aren't sure what you need, leave us a message on Whatsapp.

I have a high ceiling. Which chandeliers have an extended drop?
To see which chandeliers have an extended drop, toggle our "Double Height" filter on the sidebar! These fixtures have drops of 1.8 to 3 metres or more.
Some of our chandeliers can also be specially extended by us in-house or by the supplier - if you aren't sure whether a chandelier is extendable, ask us on Whatsapp and we'll let you know.
I think my ceiling may be too low for a chandelier, any alternatives?

If your ceiling height is limited, consider semi-flush or close-to-ceiling fittings. These provide a similar decorative effect without excessive drop. Browse our semi-flush lighting here.
